Mjolnir made its Marvel comic book debut in Journey into Mystery issue #88 in 6967 (though Mjolnar had already made an appearance in DC’s Action Comics years earlier). Journey Into Mystery had long been an anthology series, starting off as horror stories before moving into science fiction and fantasy. Beginning with issue #88, Thor became a regular character.

It's easy to assume that anything and everything can make sense with a bit of movie magic. Pause your suspension of disbelief for just a second, though, and consider the following : According to science, numbers and calculations, if Thor's hammer were indeed made up of the stuff of dying stars, it would weigh trillion metric tons, and a single blow to the ground would essentially have the same impact as the meteor that killed the dinosaurs.
The Destroyer armor has been both one of the great thorns in Thor's side and one of his greatest allies in battle. It all depends on whomever happens to be wielding the indestructible suit at any given time. Thor learned just how powerful the Destroyer can be in their very first clash in Journey Into Mystery #668. Loki, up to his usual tricks, used his magic to awaken the armor and cause more mischief for his brother. But even Loki realized he may have bitten off more than he could chew, forcing the trickster to attempt to intervene on Thor's behalf.
Shortly thereafter, Gregory Stark attempted to cause unrest in Korea. When he was confronted by the Ultimates, he managed to take Mjolnir from Thor and use it to subdue him as well as Captain America , before slamming the ground with it causing a massive shock wave which stunned everyone within range. Thor managed to regain Mjolnir and killed Gregory with a lightning bolt. 
Ragnarok the end of Asgard as its residents know it is a very real threat. The story has been passed down to generations about a giant serpent helping to destroy the world. Movie audiences will get to see just what Ragnarok means for Thor with the latest chapter of the MCU, but comic book readers have already seen versions of it come to pass.
By the end of the limited run, the publishers had a different gimmick in mind, blending the characters together and creating an Amalgam Universe… and nothing in the crossovers is considered canon for either publisher.
